Accounting Manager

Location: Miami, Florida. On-site, full-time.

A rapidly growing provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for gas turbine engines, auxiliary power units, and component parts to military and commercial customers worldwide is seeking an Accounting Manager with experience in an MRO/repair shop environment . Operating out of a state-of-the-art 100,000-square-foot facility with on-site engine test cells, the company continues to expand its capabilities.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and hands-on, supervising the accounting team while supporting the Director of Finance and Accounting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the company’s ongoing growth and operational improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage day-to-day activities of the accounting team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and month-end close processes.
• Provide detailed financial analysis to monitor performance, trends, and variances, offering insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Assist with the development of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections to improve financial performance.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Prepare financial packages and presentations of results for senior management and the board.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve cost allocation, inventory management, and other financial processes within the MRO environment.
• Manage treasury functions, including bank relationships and day-to-day cash management.
• Lead audits, including financial, inventory, lending, and regulatory audits.

Education & Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in an Accounting Supervisor/Manager or Finance Manager role.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Experience in the Aviation MRO industry is required.
• Knowledge of US Government contracts preferred.
• Strong proficiency with Quantum accounting software is strongly preferred.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a high-performance culture.
• Hands-on approach with a willingness to work tactically within small teams.
• Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard accounting/business software, with the ability to optimize and improve accounting systems.
