Job Title: American Sign Language Interpreter (RID-Certified)

Job Status: PRN, Contract. Independent Contractor Interpreter (1099)

Job Location: Redding, CA

Pay Range: Depending on experience. No benefits.

Other Pay: Mileage reimbursement capped at IRS allowance

Shift: Work assignments are available between 7 am and 7 pm Monday - Saturdays.

***The assignments can be within any 2-hour window in this time frame for most assignments.

We are currently seeking RID-certified ASL Interpreters for in-person appointments at hospitals, medical offices, and other client sites, for nationwide assignments available for coverage in your local area. We are hiring in all these states.

As a self-employed independent contractor with Prisma International Corporation, you choose which appointments to accept.

We offer competitive hourly pay, above market rates to establish and maintain long term partnerships and meet a societal need for people who are hard of hearing and deaf.

About You

• Possess a high level of skill, proficiency, and professionalism while providing accurate and complete interpretation
• Maintain integrity and confidentiality of all sensitive information
• Can facilitate many kinds of conversations – emergencies, medical procedures, legal situations
• Can function as a vendor, providing language interpretation services on an IRS Form 1099 basis.
• Have interpretation experience
• Possess a professional Certification
• Have completed ASL training and holds a degree/certification in American Sign Language
• Have a 2-4 year degree in interpretation (desired)
• Have completed Higher education both in the United States and in programs taught in the other working language
• Have experience in relevant areas other than interpretation (e.g., healthcare)
• Have flexibility to take assignments in your local area and nearby surroundings

Qualifications Required

• RID-Certified
• Advanced, accurate interpretation skills for repeating critical information between English and American Sign Language
• An extensive working knowledge of the NADRID Code of Professional Conduct and familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act
