**$1,000 Sign On Bonus** The Counselor provides services to individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders who are enrolled in the Sunset Ridge Program, a co-occurring enhanced recovery home for women with a component for treatment services for pregnant and postpartum women. These services include a full range of counseling and case management activities with a goal of preparing each resident to establish and maintain a program of sustained recovery and self-sufficiency. The Counselor is also responsible for helping to maintain a residential community environment that is welcoming and compassionate while also instilling accountability in the residents we serve.
Responsibilities and Duties: - The Counselor is responsible for the coordination and implementation of service elements to the residents including individual and group substance use disorder counseling.
- The counselor is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the residents' treatment, goals, and educational programs.
- The Counselor is responsible for facilitating therapeutic groups using an established curriculum.
- The Counselor is responsible for assisting the resident by providing information and referral services to resources in the community (e.g., mental health counseling).
- The Counselor supports residents in navigating probation, parole, DCF and other systems in which they may be involved. The Counselor will also support any residents that need to resolve any pending legal matters.
- The Counselor will know and enforce the requirements and procedures for reporting suspected cases of child abuse and neglect in accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 119, Section 51A.
- The Counselor will assist in the admission and discharge of residents according to programs policies and procedures.
- The Counselor is responsible for assisting in crisis intervention.
- The Counselor will assist in providing transportation for residents when needed.
- The Counselor will participate in weekly staff meetings and group case conferences.
- The Counselor will adhere to applicable laws, regulations and agency policies governing the disclosure of resident identifying data and confidentiality.
- The Counselor will network and represent GAAMHA and the Sunrise Ridge Program in the community and will conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values and professional standards of the agency.
- The Counselor h olds 50-minute individual sessions once per week and conducts four therapy groups per week.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: The Counselor must have a minimum of two years of experience in a residential treatment setting, bachelor’s degree is preferred. The Counselor must have or be eligible for their CADC or LADC. The Counselor must possess a working knowledge of mutual aid support groups and embrace multiple pathways of recovery. Must have excellent oral, written, and social skills and the ability to demonstrate cultural competence and carry out all duties in compliance with HIPAA and 42CFR Part 2 consistently. The Counselor must be proficient in MS Office and can utilize web-based software/programs. A candidate with lived experience in recovery from SUD must possess at least 2 years of continuous sobriety. The candidate must have a valid driver’s license. The candidate must be able to pass a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) check and the Adam Walsh/CPS Background Check.

Schedule: Sunday-Tuesday 8am-4pm, Wednesday-Thursday 1pm-9pm
