GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Design and Production Manager is responsible for FMEA branding and developing corporate identity materials, publications, and graphics produced by FMEA. This includes but is not limited to FMEA event materials, the annual FMEA Membership Directory and overall design and maintenance of the Association website.

The Design and Production Manager works closely with other staff on FMEA publications, graphic design, photography, video production, and FMEA events, including the Florida Lineman Competition, FMEA’s Hurricane Forum the FMEA Annual Conference, and the FMEA Energy Connections Conference & Trade Show. This position handles all aspects of the tradeshows associated with the Florida Lineman Competition, Hurricane Forum and Energy Connections Conference and other events.

About FMEA: The Florida Municipal Electric Association (FMEA) represents the unified interests of Florida’s 33 public power communities. FMEA is the statewide trade association and voice for Florida’s municipal electric utilities.

FMEA provides its members with government relations, mutual aid coordination, communications, education, and networking opportunities. The association is at the forefront of energy industry news and trends and supports its member utilities by promoting public power and delivering superior services through advocacy, mutual aid, education, and collaboration.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Design and layout of all graphics used in FMEA communication materials (including event logos and signs, program layouts and conference agendas, PowerPoint presentation templates, fact sheets, legislative handouts, etc.)
2. Design and produce graphics for FMEA events, awards, newsletters and other promotional emails as needed.
3. Overall responsibility for managing FMEA’s website (flpublicpower.com) including development and design. Works closely with communications staff on various postings. 
4. Design and develop graphical award templates for FMEA and member utilities for use on social media and other purposes.
5. Develop FMEA and public power promotional and informational videos.
6. Works closely with FMEA’s Member Services Coordinator to manage the annual update of FMEA Membership Directory.
7. Work closely with FMEA conference managers to manage event exhibitors and tradeshow layouts during FMEA events. Working with the exhibitors before and during the event to ensure all the exhibitors’ needs are met.
8. Manages and keeps inventory of FMEA’s audio visual equipment, makes recommendations for purchase.
9. Ensures all printed and visual sponsorship fulfillments are executed.
10. Provide onsite support at FMEA conferences, trade shows, and special events to promote FMEA and FMEA members, including audio visual management. Some travel is required (approximately 8%.)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

· Self-starter and ability to manage and organize multiple tasks and deadlines.

· Organized and detail-oriented; excellent follow-through and results-oriented.

· Ability to take direction from multiple sources and remain flexible, with a common goal in mind.

· Proficient use of Adobe suite of products, including Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.

· Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

· Experience with videography and photography equipment and production skills.

· Knowledge of AP writing style and ability to use correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.

· Proficient in front-end website content editing and membership database management.

· Ability to develop original content.

· Ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences.

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

· Ability to research topics and collaborate with team members to produce content.

· Advanced video production and editing skills a plus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Baccalaureate degree (Masters preferred) in Communications, Graphic Design or related field with five (5) years’ experience in associations, graphic design, magazine, publication, or equivalent in education, training and experience. Knowledge in the field of energy or utilities or association experience a plus.
