Job Description:

We are looking for Associate Test Engineers for various positions in manufacturing who will be involved with the testing of new technologies such as optics/opto-mechanical, assembly.

Responsibilities:

• Perform set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of mechanical assemblies at system level.
• Determine and may develop methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
• Test and troubleshoot assemblies and/or final systems, and complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing.
• Prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems. May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.
• Work on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
• Perform ongoing daily work with minimal instruction, and with general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
• May provide work assignment direction and technical training to peer.

Experience:

• Working with larger mechanical components.
• Optical alignment experience is a plus.
• Automotive/mechanical assembly or similar hands-on experience.
• Military experience (e.g., Navy electrical technicians).
• Hobbyists or people skilled in building things (e.g., model making, robotics, mechanical engines)

Education:

• A BSEE, BSEET or similar degree in an engineering discipline is strongly preferred
