Job Title: Estimator

Location: Columbia, SC (Travel required within SC, NC, and GA)

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator with a minimum of 2 years of civil construction estimating experience. The ideal candidate will excel in heavy civil, site work, utilities, drainage systems, and road projects. This role involves preparing detailed cost estimates, analyzing project risks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare estimates for site work projects valued between $500K and $10M.
• Evaluate self-performed tasks, including pricing labor, equipment, and materials.
• Develop precise estimates from conceptual to final contract stages.
• Assess site conditions, construction risks, and costs.
• Identify constructability issues and propose value-engineering alternatives.
• Collaborate effectively with project teams and management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Estimator in heavy civil projects.
• Proficiency in construction software like Agtek, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, or CAD.
• Experience with estimating tools such as HCSS or B2W is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of construction assemblies and project phases.
• Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Adobe.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, and move around for at least eight hours daily.
• Occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs. frequently and carrying up to 15 lbs.
• Typical indoor office environment with moderate noise levels.
