Job Developer

Job Summary
The Job Developer is responsible for building and maintaining strong connections within the community to promote inclusive employment opportunities. This role focuses on identifying competitive, integrated employment for individuals with learning differences and autism, supporting participants through the job acquisition process, and ensuring positive outcomes through employer engagement and ongoing support.

Essential Functions

  • Source and secure paid employment opportunities that align with participant goals and abilities.

  • Guide participants through the job search process, including resume development, interviewing, and onboarding.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with local businesses, industry partners, and community organizations.

  • Act as a liaison between employers, participants, and families to ensure clear communication and successful employment outcomes.

  • Provide job coaching, support in workplace accommodations, and transportation mapping.

  • Track participant progress, promotions, and employment outcomes in internal systems.

  • Maintain accurate documentation including case notes, service agreements, and employment plans.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Community Engagement

  • Develop partnerships with employers to create job, internship, and industry experience opportunities.

  • Represent the organization in community networks focused on employment for individuals with disabilities.

  • Facilitate career exploration activities such as informational interviews, job shadowing, and workplace tours.

Job Placement & Support

  • Collaborate with internal teams to match participants with appropriate employment opportunities.

  • Conduct regular employer site visits to support both employee and employer.

  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including families, to provide updates and address concerns.

Training & Development

  • Provide training and labor market insights to participants and community stakeholders.

  • Mentor and onboard new Job Developers.

  • Support educational sessions for employer partners on inclusive hiring practices.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate records of participant employment activities and progress.

  • Contribute to performance tracking and reporting on job development outcomes.

  • Assist in meeting program goals related to employment by graduation and partnership growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Special Education, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in job placement, job coaching, or Vocational Rehabilitation Services.

  • Experience working with individuals with learning differences and/or autism is preferred.

  • Familiarity with local employment markets (e.g., Richfield/Bloomington, MN) is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Valid driver's license in good standing.

  • Must reside in Minnesota.
