Client Overview: Our client, a prestigious law firm based in Charleston, SC, is seeking to add a talented and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant to their growing team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an individual with solid litigation experience to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job Description: As a Litigation Legal Assistant, you will be an integral part of the firm’s litigation team, providing essential administrative and organizational support to attorneys handling complex legal matters. This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of legal procedures and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys with preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Draft and format correspondence, legal briefs, and reports.
  • Manage case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and organized.
  • Perform e-filing with federal, state, and local courts.
  • Coordinate and track deadlines, hearings, and depositions.
  • Prepare discovery responses and assist with document production.
  • Manage and update case management systems, ensuring accurate and timely tracking of case status.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit preparation, witness coordination, and trial binders.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a litigation legal assistant role.
  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and documentation.
  • E-filing experience with federal and state courts is required.
  • Experience with iManage document management software is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
