Job Description

Pride Health is seeking an experienced Medical Technologist for a 13-week assignment at a top healthcare facility in Austin, TX . This role involves performing high-complexity laboratory testing, specimen verification, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Verify patient specimens and orders, ensuring accuracy and troubleshooting inconsistencies.
• Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing according to established protocols.
• Analyze test results, recognize abnormalities, and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, and cell washers.
• Maintain quality control procedures and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Provide age-appropriate laboratory services based on patient needs.
• Respond quickly to STAT and emergency situations to support timely patient care.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field (Required).
• Certification (Required – One of the following):
• MT-STATE, MT-AAB, MT-AMT, CLSP, IMLS, BB-ASCP, C-ASCP, H-ASCP, MLS-ASCP, MT-ASCP, MB-ASCP, MP-ASCP.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting (Preferred).
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of laboratory operations and quality control procedures.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot lab equipment.
• Familiarity with specimen processing, microscopy, and immunohematology.
• Experience with EMR systems such as EPIC is a plus.

Additional Details:

• Location: Austin, TX 78717
• Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts (Wednesday – Saturday, 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM )
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Pay Rate: $50 - $52 per hour
