Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

- Project Management: Lead mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure work for a VA Medical Center, overseeing all aspects of construction management.

- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including the facilities staff and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution. Design build type work preferred, will be partnering with subcontractors

- Stay away from owners' reps for CM – had a few bad experiences with those type of guys – have to bid against other entities with subcontractors, big partnership, would be difficult for someone to understand that they have to work as closely as they can with subcontractors – focused on maintaining a working relationship with all individuals

- Utility Shutdowns: Schedule and manage utility shutdowns in collaboration with the facilities team, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations.

- Software Proficiency: Utilize Procore project management software for tracking progress, reporting, and documentation.

- Oversight and Coordination: Manage and coordinate multiple subcontractors on-site (2-5), ensuring work is completed according to project design, specifications, and timelines.

- Task Management: Create and maintain organized action registries, daily logs, punch lists, and to-do lists to ensure all tasks are addressed and completed on time.

- Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to all developed project safety protocols, including OSHA standards (OSHA 30/10 certification preferred).

- Communication: Maintain clear, consistent communication with all stakeholders, including campus facilities team, and external contractors.

Qualifications:

- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a Construction Manager role, healthcare or hospital experience is strongly preferred. Target between 5 to 10 years of experience in construction (MEP and infrastructure)

- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing project management in construction.

- Project Management Skills: Expertise in handling MEP scope of work and managing infrastructure projects in large facilities
