Position : On-Call Property Maintenance Technician I (Sarasota, FL)

Altez Vacations specializes in the management and promotion of short-term vacation rental properties. With over 30 years of luxury hospitality experience, we provide 5-star hotel-quality standards in the vacation rental industry. Currently managing 30+ properties in the Sarasota area and growing rapidly, Altez Vacations is seeking a dedicated On-Call Property Maintenance Technician to join our team.

This contracted, on-call position is ideal for individuals with strong problem-solving skills and flexible schedules who are looking to add hours to their workload. Work hours will vary depending on the season and property occupancy, with on-call shifts primarily during evenings, weekends, and high-reservation turnover days.

Responsibilities:

The Property Maintenance Technician will provide comprehensive maintenance support to ensure the highest quality experience for guests. Responsibilities include:

Daily Tasks:

• Performing routine care, maintenance, and upkeep of Altez Vacations properties.
• Troubleshooting and resolving maintenance, quality, and usage issues, both remotely (over the phone) and on-site.
• Communicating and coordinating with guests, Altez staff, vendors, and property owners to address maintenance needs.

Expanded Responsibilities:

• Preparing properties for guest arrivals, including:
• Trash removal and cleaning property grounds.
• Inspecting appliances and electronics for proper functionality.
• Changing AC filters and cleaning drain lines.
• Conducting pool and spa maintenance as required.
• Assisting guests with common maintenance issues, such as:
• Cable and internet troubleshooting.
• Addressing plumbing issues like toilet clogs and leaks.
• Repairing or replacing small appliances and tripped circuit breakers.
• Replacing batteries and light bulbs.
• Providing routine property care, including:
• Groundskeeping, debris removal, and basic painting.
• Inspecting and maintaining HVAC systems, lighting, and other fixtures.
• Coordinating with maintenance vendors for the repair or replacement of major property features, such as plumbing, electrical systems, and appliances.
• Supporting housekeeping efforts, including moving furniture, carrying heavy loads, and completing special projects.

The Maintenance Technician will work closely with the property team, which includes Housekeeping and Property Operations, to ensure all properties meet Altez Vacations’ 5-star guest experience standards.

Schedule Expectations:

• On-Call Availability : Technicians must be available for most evenings and weekends unless prior arrangements are made with Altez Vacations. A response time of 4 hours or less is required for most reported issues.
• Advanced Scheduling : For planned maintenance or expanded responsibilities, schedules will be provided in advance.
• Fluctuating Demand : Work volume may vary significantly based on the season. Some periods may see minimal calls, while others may involve frequent weekend and evening shifts.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills; able to prioritize and resolve issues effectively.
• Proactive, goal-oriented, and open to learning and improving.
• Comfortable using operational software and applications.
• Attention to detail with an eye for housekeeping, staging, and design.
• Strong multitasking abilities; capable of managing multiple priorities daily.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Team player with a collaborative mindset, thriving in a family-operated business environment.

Physical Demands:

This role requires regular physical activity, including:

• Standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Frequently lifting and moving items weighing 50–75 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a maintenance or construction role.
• Experience in customer service is preferred.

Compensation:

• $21 per hour

Must be local to Sarasota - this is an on-site and on-call position.
