Job Description

Johnson-Lambe is a leading distributer of team sports equipment, uniforms and apparel on the East Coast. We service thousands of Universities, High Schools, Middle Schools and Club/Travel Programs throughout NC, SC, VA, DE, PA, and NJ. We are currently looking for an outside sales representative in the following areas to add to our team:

Baltimore, MD

Charleston, SC

Rock Hill, SC

Charlotte, NC

You must live in or around the area to manage local client relationships. Travel will be required 2-4 days a week, mostly to local schools and organizations in the area. On occasion overnight and out of state travel may be required for company meetings.

Work Type: Full Time - Remote/Hybrid. It is mostly Monday-Friday; however some weekends may be required depending on customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential new clients through networking, cold calling and market research.
  • Understanding your customer's needs and tailoring services, products and contracts to meet those needs. Every customer is different and can require outside the box thinking and problem solving.
  • Resilience to handle rejection and the persistence to turn challenges into opportunities.
  • Navigate the company’s ERP system, including entering sales and using reports to maintain accurate customer data.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and new product developments.
  • Manage your account list and travel on location within your assigned territory.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • Must be computer proficient, able to use tools such as Excel and Outlook quickly and effectively.
  • 2+ Years in sales or prior coaching/athletics experience is preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated and prepared to work on your own schedule. You will be remote so you must have the ability to work from home in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Excellent time management skills are required. You will be balancing visiting customers, communicating with customers, entering sales orders and interacting with team members to ensure customer orders are completed and delivered in a timely manner.
  • High level of verbal and written communication to convey product information and build rapport with customers. This also applies to listening and understanding customer's needs, wants, and concerns.
