Job Description

Healthcare Staffing Professionals, Inc. is looking for Special Education Paraprofessionals to work in a school setting in Frankfort, IL. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting young learners and contributing to a positive and engaging classroom environment. The Para will be working with non-verbal autistic students.
Pay Rate: $25/hr = $875/week
Schedule: 35 hours/week; working with elementary students
Job Duties:

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students to reinforce learning concepts.
• Support students with special needs and individualized education plans (IEPs) as required.
• Monitor and manage student behavior in the classroom to ensure a productive learning environment.
• Prepare educational materials and resources for classroom activities.
• Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the educational process and school operations.

Qualifications:

• Possess high school diploma or equivalent (a copy will need to be provided)
• AA Degree OR 60 credit hours OR Parapro Certification.
• Work with students on a one-to-one basis including students with sensory, cognitive, emotional and/or physical disabilities.
• Work in a timely and efficient manner.
• Relate to public, staff and students in a positive manner.
• Ability to use word processing on MAC/PC computer.
• Prefer experience in working with children with disabilities.
• Possess or able to obtain current First Aid and CPR cards.
• Lift, position and transfer students safely lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Perform the duties required of the position including confidentiality, personal organization and timely submission of all paperwork.
• Preferred: candidates with experience working with autistic students
