Position : Sales Representative (Full-Time, Exempt)

Job Location : Torrance, California

Work Hours : 40 hours per week, Regular Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (includes 1-hour lunch break)

Note: Minimum lunch break is 30 minutes. Work hours can be flexible depending on lunch duration. Example: Start at 9:00 AM and finish at 5:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch break.

Summary

As a Sales Representative for our food manufacturing/import company, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, building strong customer relationships, and promoting our range of products to clients such as retailers, distributors, and food service businesses. Passion for our products and Japanese food will be critical in achieving sales targets and expanding our market presence. This position requires regular business travel within the West Coast region to meet clients, attend trade shows, and explore new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy Development

  • Identify and target potential customers within the food sector.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet company goals.
  • Participate in trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.

Product Knowledge

  • Gain in-depth knowledge of our product lines, including ingredients, benefits, and applications.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations for clients.

Market Research

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences.
  • Provide feedback to management on market opportunities and challenges.

Sales Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and inventory levels.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance and market trends.

Sales Operations

  • Collaborate with marketing, production, and logistics teams to align sales initiatives.
  • Support daily operations, including picking up products from the warehouse and arranging deliveries to customers as needed.

E-Commerce Support

  • Assist with daily operations of e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Walmart, and the company’s online store as needed.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not required.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the food industry, food service, or related sectors preferred.
  • No specific sales or food sector experience required; passion for Japanese food and willingness to learn are essential.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in English.
  • Business level Japanese is a must.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and close sales effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
