Working under minimal supervision, the Sr. Project Manager’s position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of the designated projects, to ensure that goals or objectives of the projects are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
Responsibilities:
• Work with project estimator for a successful handover.
• Review and negotiate the contracted scope to ensure it aligns with the proposed scope.
• Identify safety requirements and collaborate with the Safety department for
implementation.
• Review construction plans and phasing for optimal sequence.
• Understand budget constraints for a successful project.
• Coordinate plan changes or client issues.
• Track RFP’s, RFI’s, and submittals, provide updates as required.
• Procurement for site services.
• Order and track materials.
• Track costs and billings.
• Cost analysis and preparation of work-in-progress budgets for management review.
• Review & approve subcontractor invoices and purchase order items.
• Provide oversight and direction to both internal resources and subcontractors.
• Day to day operations and problem resolution.
• Provide project updates to company leadership and clients.
• Monitor, track, and record the completion of project milestones.
• Change order negotiation and implementation.
• Mentor and develop Project Engineers.
• Submit for new budget and cost codes to Viewpoint for tracking additional work.
• Complete project closeout requirements for both clients and internal obligations.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s in project management, civil engineering, or similar is preferable.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in new construction, 5 if no degree.
• Ability to examine civil plans for accuracy, completeness, and changes.
• Demonstrates intermediate level communication skills using a personal computer and
company communication tools, such as email, internet, and Microsoft Office products
(e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Fluently speak, read, and write professionally in English.
• Skilled in time management.
• Demonstrates exemplary communication, customer service skills, and verbal/written skills
with all levels of company personnel and outside vendors/suppliers.
