Job Description

A nonprofit in Queens is currently seeking a Senior Social Worker (Bilingual Spanish) to join their growing team.

• Start Date: ASAP
• Assignment Length: Ongoing (Contract to Hire)
• Schedule: Monday - Friday
• Hours: 8am - 4pm

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and provide support to family service staff;
• Develop systems of creating and submitting reports to management team that provide information related to family goal setting, services provided and any other information that may be requested;
• Monitor compliance using electronic data management systems
• Establish and maintain communication with parents to insure opportunities for active program involvement and participation as well as crisis intervention.
• Participate in team management functions of planning, implementing, and evaluation of program.
• Assist in facilitating election process of the programs Governing body.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field plus 5 years' experience working in Human Services, Psychology or related field that includes course work in principles of social work, child development, counseling and/or psychology
• Speak, read and write fluently in both Spanish and English

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products;
• Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently;
• Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and to multi-task;
• Willingness and skills to deal with sensitive family situations in a non-threatening and professional manner;
