Job Description

Studio Operations & Events Manager

Location: Sunnyvale, Texas | In-Studio Role | Full-Time

Sunnyvale Dance Academy promotes a positive, enriching dance environment built on creativity, discipline, and community. We’re home to over 150 young dancers and a dedicated team of educators who believe in doing meaningful work—and having fun while we do it.

We are currently seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and creatively driven Studio Operations & Events Manager to serve as the logistical backbone of our studio. This is  not your average desk job. You’ll be a key leader in our day-to-day studio operations, parent and staff communications, and event execution—including recital production, themed parties, and more.

This role follows a seasonal rhythm, with higher intensity leading up to recital season and  flexible summer scheduling to recharge and reset —making it an ideal fit for someone who thrives in creative, cyclical work environments.

This position requires a minimum one-year commitment with the following general availability:

  • Monday–Thursday: 9 AM–5 PM
  • Friday: 9 AM – end time varies based on studio needs (typically between 3:00–5:00 PM)
  • Approximately 12–14 weekend days/year (staff meetings, events, recitals)

Key Responsibilities

*Communication & Client Experience

  • Be the welcoming, organized, and confident voice of the studio—whether in person, on the phone, or via email
  • Help new and existing families find the best class placements and feel at home in our program
  • Maintain positive, professional relationships with customers and staff
  • Write clear, grammatically correct, and customer-centered emails
  • Assist with social media messaging, newsletters, and event announcements (creativity encouraged!)

*Administrative & Studio Management

  • Handle all front desk and office tasks including phones, billing, class registration, form updates, data entry, and schedule management
  • Manage and maintain customer records and registration via our studio software
  • Coordinate studio calendar, event logistics, and staff communications
  • Ensure the studio space is clean, organized, and prepared for daily operations
  • Use and maintain project management software to track tasks and timelines

*Event Planning & Creative Projects

  • Lead the planning, prepping, and execution of events including our annual recital, theme weeks, parties, photoshoots, and more
  • Decorate the studio for events and holidays with attention to detail and theme cohesion
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and directors to bring big ideas to life

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 1 year of administrative, operations, or teaching experience (in education, dance, childcare, customer service, or event planning)
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Excellent computer skills, especially in Google Suite, Canva, Excel, and Pinterest
  • Comfort with learning studio platforms, Wix websites, and project management tools (we use Monday)
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, child-centered environment
  • Self-starter who is both reliable and responsive, with great judgment and follow-through
  • Loves solving problems and staying two steps ahead
  • Works well with children, families, and team members alike
  • Passion for dance or the arts is a plus!

Compensation

  • Full-time salaried position: $40,000–$45,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
  • Recital season bonus of $2,000–$5,000 based on performance, workload, and overall contribution during peak season
  • Flexible summer schedule offered to help balance the intensity of recital season—ideal for rest, planning, or personal travel when studio programming is lighter
  • Paid time off and additional studio perks
  • Potential for future role growth based on performance
