The Department of Health and Human Performance at Nebraska Wesleyan University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Athletic Training and Clinical Coordinator position working within the Health and Human Performance Department to begin August 2025. Nebraska Wesleyan, located in Lincoln, the capital city of Nebraska, is a nationally recognized liberal arts institution with approximately 1,700 students and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Final rank upon hire will be determined by the Provost commensurate with experience and education.
This is a full-time, 9-month benefit eligible position, which includes a comprehensive package including health, vision and dental insurance benefits, retirement benefits, and undergraduate tuition remission for employee’s dependents among other benefits. NWU offers a generous sabbatical program and mentoring for new faculty. This position will also have potential summer teaching responsibilities that compensated separately from the annual salary.

The Athletic Training Program at Nebraska Wesleyan University prepares students for a career in Athletic Training by providing them the skills and knowledge to practice in a variety of settings while allowing opportunities for intellectual and personal growth within the framework of a liberal arts education.
Responsibilities:
We encourage applications from candidates who are prepared to teach courses in Athletic Training and Human Health and Performance and take on duties as clinical education coordinator. Courses may include Therapeutic Rehabilitation, Research and Statistics, Organization and Administration, or courses assigned by the department chair or in the Archway Curriculum. Courses taught, and administrative assignments will be based on expertise. The didactic education component will involve working directly with graduate athletic training students. Additional roles may be available based on candidates’ interests and expertise (administrative duties, clinical duties, or course selection). The candidate will also assist in academic and career advisement of current undergraduate students and future graduate students and contribute to faculty governance.
