Job Summary:

As a skilled and safety-conscious Truck Driver (Class A), this individual will be responsible for operating a lowbed truck to transport heavy equipment to and from paving job sites and plants. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and extensive experience handling large, heavy machinery.

Essential Functions:

  1. Safety always wins. Safely operate a Class A vehicle with a lowbed trailer to transport heavy equipment, including paving and construction machinery, between job sites and plants while adhering to all safety protocols and participate in required safety training programs.
  2. Committed to serve. Load and unload equipment, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution for safe transport.
  3. Ownership and caring. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle and equipment safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
  4. Measurement. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage.
  5. Respect and engage. Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to ensure timely deliveries.
  6. Dedication. Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.

Requirements, Education and Experience:

1. Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.

2. Minimum of 2 years of experience operating Class A vehicles, preferably in the construction or paving industry.

3. Experience driving lowbed trucks and transporting heavy equipment with the ability to operate and maneuver large vehicles and equipment in tight or challenging spaces.

4. In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures.

5. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members and supervisors.

6. Excellent time management, strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

7. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed.

8. Willingness to undergo drug screenings as required.

9. High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.

10. Authorized to work in the U.S.

Travel:

Position may require up to 100% travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 50 lb. or more. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, pulling, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion. On occasion the job will require going out in the field and various plants and quarries.
