SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Collections Analyst maintains collection of balances on an assigned portfolio of customer accounts and coordinates the credit application process and reporting tools as needed for the AR Department.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Pursues collections of assigned portfolio (value of approximately $40 million dollars) of customer accounts to ensure timely collection of balances to minimize delinquency
• Actively improves customer relationships within portfolio and effectively meets cash flow objectives of the company
• Prepares credit limit assessments analyzing credit history and recommending credit limits
• Supports improvement of reporting tools and data analysis dashboards for the department
• Coordinates the Credit Application process for new accounts. This includes gathering references and understanding the financial reporting tools used at each account
• Reconciles customer claims and deductions for accounts assigned in portfolio
• Manages Cash In Advance accounts specifically monthly reporting and reconciliation
• Completes portal billing for customers
• Facilitates internal relationships with Sales and Customer Service through collections activities
• Assists the Credit Manager on special projects as needed

EDUCATION:

Required: High School Diploma or the Equivalent

Preferred: Associate's degree in business

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• Minimum 5 years related work experience in credit and collections and account reconciliation
• Experience in report writing and project coordination

SKILLS:

Required:

• Strong Microsoft Excel and Word capabilities
• Strong analytical skills for problem solving & account reconciliation
• Experience in creating and improving reporting tools for the credit function while working with an

IT department

• Strong verbal/written communication, interpersonal, organizational & negotiating skills
• Knowledge of ERP computer systems (preferably Oracle) & applications as it relates to the credit function
