Job Description

Seeking an Assistant Chemist I to join our Quality Laboratory team on 3rd Shift. This entry-level role is responsible for conducting analytical testing of raw ingredients, in-process and finished products, and plant utilities to support manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in chemistry, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established protocols in a GMP-regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform analytical testing including titrations, vitamin/protein/mineral/fat analysis, pH, viscosity, and sensory evaluations.
• Conduct gas chromatography and other complex testing techniques.
• Standardize and prepare chemical solutions and test samples.
• Execute batch adjustments and generate documentation for corrections.
• Perform control sample and utility testing (CIP, water, gases, oils).
• Maintain laboratory inventory and ensure proper documentation.
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in training new chemists and complete project work as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; college-level math/science courses mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
• Basic computer and statistical skills desirable.
